In this episode of the FilmingLife® Podcast for Family Photographers & Filmmakers, Kylie Purtell sits down for a chat with Tog Hub Founder Stacey Rolfe about the value of outsourcing and pricing your time in business as a photographer + filmmaker.

Stacey Rolfe is a family, newborn, and maternity photographer based in Sydney, Australia. Before turning her hobby into her job, she was a lawyer for 12 years. She doesn’t miss it. But she is grateful for so many of the admin and business skills she spent those years perfecting. She gets a kick out of finding order in the chaos. She prioritises client experience over everything else. She has systems and automations in place for all the ''boring bits'' which save her hours every week. She loves finding solutions, balancing risk, and working out the right answer for a specific client. She firmly believes there is no cookie cutter one-size-fits-all answer. It's all a balance, and she loves helping people to find it. Whether you are just starting out and needing a roadmap to get legit, or you've been in business a while and feel overwhelmed by the admin side, Stacey is in your corner.

We chat about:

  • Stacey’s pre-photography life as a Lawyer

  • How she became a photographer

  • Why she believes in building a community

  • Her approach to outsourcing and why it’s so important
