The great thing about learning to make family films at Filming Life Academy is that if you have a DSLR camera or even a cell phone, you can learn a whole new facet of your camera that is left untapped. You just turn your camera to video and now with some easy prompts you are capturing sound, nuances not captured by a still image, ambient sounds, and such joy from that tiny flick of a switch! I like how you break the course into bite sized pieces. The information seems detailed but not so detailed that it's overwhelming.
I liked the video example of how you broke down the music to the footage as I'm not super musical. How you explained the process of selecting music made the choice much clearer and also what to listen for clarified a lot for me.
One thing I have really noticed is how my photography is becoming more layered through doing these courses.

These lessons helped me understand many things that I was already doing intuitively but didn't really understand why (and was often making mistakes as a result of that). It was almost like it helped me move the techniques from the artistic part of my brain through to the technical part so that I could trust my instincts, but also understand why something wasn't working.
