In 2021 we introduced something brand new to the FilmingLife® Academy. We wanted something that would complement our existing education & courses and give our members an opportunity to try new skills and push their filmmaking to the next level.

And so, the ArtHouse Film Projects were born!

Each new project was designed to build on the last and equip members with a full tool box of skills & techniques that they can then utilise and implement in both their personal and client work.

The ArtHouse in 2021 featured 6 themes, Unexpected, Generations, Water, Transitions, Moving Portrait & Sound. There was no pressure for anyone to complete all the themes, but we had 6 members who made a film for each one, and boy did they blow us away with not only the quality of their films, but how they applied the things they were learning and used those skills to create films that just got better and better.

We applaud all of our members who participated in the ArtHouse Film Projects in 2021, whether they created one film or 6. And we want to take a moment to celebrate those members who completed all 6 films, and in the process took out a high number of Educator’s Choice Awards and Honourable Mentions.

To celebrate our member’s achievements we’d like to present to you our ArtHouse Film Project 2021 Showcase and our ArtHouse Artist of the Year….

Ashley Lewis

Completed all 6 films and took out 3 Educator’s Choice Awards

Ashley absolutely blew us away with her dedication to the ArtHouse Film Projects and her exploration of creativity in her films. Never shying away from trying new things and pushing herself to think outside the box when it came to working on her film projects, Ashley took out 3 Educator’s Choice Award which makes her our ArtHouse Artist of the Year!

Completed all 6 films and took our 2 Educator’s Choice Awards and an Honourable Mention

Completed all 6 films and took out 2 Educator’s Choice Awards

Melissa Hines took the challenge of the ArtHouse film projects and really made them her own. Her submitted films exemplified thinking outside the box, and proved definitively why she’s earned her recognition as a FilmingLifer PRO and is now leading an ArtHouse Film Project theme for our members this year.
