In 2021 we introduced something brand new to the FilmingLife® Academy. We wanted something that would complement our existing education & courses and give our members an opportunity to try new skills and push their filmmaking to the next level.

And so, the ArtHouse Film Projects were born!

Each new project was designed to build on the last and equip members with a full tool box of skills & techniques that they can then utilise and implement in both their personal and client work.

The ArtHouse in 2022 featured 6 themes, Rewind, Limitations, Blur, On the Go, Avant Garde & Repeat. Our members exceeded all expectations with the films they created and boy did they blow us away with not only the quality of their films, but how they applied the things they were learning and used those skills to create films that just got better and better.

We applaud all of our members who participated in the ArtHouse Film Projects in 2022, whether they created one film or 6. And we want to take a moment to celebrate those members who completed to a high standard and took out the Educator’s Choice Awards and Honourable Mentions.

To celebrate our member’s achievements we’d like to present to you our ArtHouse Film Project 2022 Showcase and our ArtHouse Artist of the Year….

ArtHouse Artist of the Year

Krista Hall

Completed 2 films and took out 2 Educator’s Choice Awards

What Lindsey said about Krista’s award winning AVANT GARDE film -

”Krista chose a song she would probably never pick for this ArtHouse project, and it worked so well as the soundtrack beneath her October highlight film. Krista’s last few films have shown tremendous growth overall. She has really made that leap from “learner” to “maker” in my opinion. I love how this music choice highlights a humor in her family that I haven’t really seen much of yet in her other films. The silliness of boys, their dancing and their play mixed with his song was such a fun vibe. I know the boys will watch this one on repeat! This film made me smile so big. Congrats Krista!”

Sarah MacClary

Completed 4 films and took out 1 Educator’s Choice Awards and an Honourable Mention

What Kylie said about Sarah’s award winning REPEAT film -

”The themes Sarah chose to incorporate into her film were Avant Garde, Self-Portrait & Vertical and I was just really blown away by how well Sarah fit the brief for all 3 themes. I loved not just the creativity Sarah showed in her story and song choice, but the unique perspectives and camera angles she was also able to incorporate. It really is the absolute embodiment of an ArtHouse film and a true testament to Sarah’s commitment to honing her filmmaking craft.”

What Melissa said about Lindsey’s award winning LIMITATIONS film -

”The way Lindsey layered her clips and her voiceover in this film left me with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I feel like I know her son through this film, but even more important, I feel like I really learn about their relationship. And all of this storytelling magic was created with iPhone clips which goes to show that it's the filmmaker and their voice that is most important, not the camera.”
